Forties
I learned a lot from the 1940's group. I had never really learned specifically about that decade before. I thought one of the most interesting things I learned was how the government used the media and advertising to change peoples opinions about the war and try and make them bias towards one side or another. I was especially surprised that they used Donald Duck, a children's cartoon, to advertise the war.I also learned a lot about World War II that I didn't know. I never really understood why we dropped two atomic bombs on Japan, but now I understand that they didn't surrender after the first one. I am still up for discussion about whether the second one was justified or not, but the forties group gave me a good understanding of both sides.
